Imagine this: other people remember things. What an extraordinary thought, if you reflect on it for a moment. Then consider how we create actual places dedicated to our memories – museums, monuments, libraries – a way in which we aspire to pass on and immortalise certain memories.

Hans Rosenström’s (b. 1978, Lohja, Finland) latest sound installation, which can be heard in numerous of the Art of Memory locations, challenges ideas about the function of memories. A voice leading the listener from Vasaparken Park to the Jewish Museum to the Stockholm Public Library, helps one to remember, but at the same time also confuses the memory, paving the way for alternative and unexpected insights.
