About Bonniers Konsthall

Let’s dare to believe in the not yet formulated. – Jeanette Bonnier

Bonniers Konsthall is a leading institution for contemporary art in Sweden, with a long standing tradition of presenting the new and creating space for the unexpected. We exhibit prominent Swedish art with a particular focus on emerging artists, while also introducing significant international artistic practices to our audiences.

We are convinced of the power of art to question, reflect, and to bring people together in an ever-changing world. The founding vision of the Konsthall, shaped by Jeanette Bonnier’s encouragement to dare and take risks, remains central to our work – both in our collaborations with artists and in the experiences we create for our visitors.

Building on its exhibitions, Bonniers Konsthall presents a wide-ranging programme that deepens and expands what is on view. The programme often brings together voices from other fields, whose ways of seeing and thinking add new perspectives and carry the conversation forward, beyond the galleries and into society. Guided tours are offered regularly, and you are warmly welcome to ask questions to our experienced hosts.

Bonniers Konsthall has its origins in the Maria Bonnier Dahlin Foundation, established in 1985 by Jeanette Bonnier in memory of her daughter Maria who died in a car accident at the age of 20. The foundation annually awards grants to young artists and has played a crucial role in supporting emerging artists in Sweden. Rooted in the commitment of supporting and nourishing the art field of tomorrow, Bonniers Konsthall for over two decades has presented artistic practices that have resonated widely within the art world in Sweden and beyond.
