Wall of Flax, 2008
Wall of Flax is a wall covered with flax insulation. In the work, we encounter a material that absorbs sound, retains heat and emits a faint scent of grass. For seven years, the artist has worked with linen, immersed herself in the process of producing linen cloths and learnt how to weave, spin and make paper of flax fibres.
”It is not just an exploration of a material but rather a journey the route of which is determined by the linen.” Christin Wahlström
